DCU Ease To Lynch Cup Honours
Liverpool Hope 2-00 DCU 9-11

A combined tally of 7-03 from Aisling Jennings and Bronagh Sheridan helped DCU to an easy victory over Liverpool Hope at a very wet Dundalk in the Lynch Cup final. DCU took a while to settle but when they did they kicked five consecutive points during the first quarter. In the 21st minute the lively Aisling Jennings found the net for the first of her four goals. The Dublin girls finished the half strong and extended their lead with further points and a brace of goals from Jennings and Carla Moran to go in at the break ahead 3-7 to 0-0.

Within five minutes of the restart Jennings and Bronagh Sheridan had both found the net. Deirdre Mc Dermott fired over a point before Jennings and Sheridan found the net again entering the final quarter. Liverpool Hope to their credit never gave up and were rewarded with a goal in the 18th minute from Armagh's Ciara Hayes. DCU replied with their eighth goal from Edel Quinn but once again Hope rallied and found the net, this time through Rosie Cunningham. However DCU were to have the last say of the game and the goal of the match was scored by player of the match Sheridan as she found the net with a 20m free taken off the ground.

Hope did exceptionally well for a team who don't get a lot of competitive football and can take great heart from their defeat of MICL in Saturday's semi final.
